Made by laminating between 2 and 7 layers of paper together on a very large machine called a Corrugator. The rolls of paper at the front of the machine can each weigh several tonnes, and the Corrugator itself can be nearly 100 yds long! With Single Wall Board you have an “outer” flat liner, a wiggly bit in the middle (!) called the “fluting” and an “inner” liner. You can get “Triple Wall” board with 4 liners and 3 flutes! Most of the paper used is now recycled and the glues are normally starch and water-based, so are environmentally friendly. At the end of the process the flat board is cut to size.
